This is our major! :-)

Hello~^^

We are the wonderful nursing science students of Woosong University.

As nursing students, we have a lot of subjects that we should study.

Let’s introduce our major subjects!!

First, these are textbooks of nursing, containing human anatomy, human physiology, pharmacology, the fundamentals of nursing, pathology, an introduction of hospital management, and practice book of fundamentals of nursing.

Some were written by English and the others were written by Korean.

The former is little difficult for us to read the textbook, however, we are training to be a global nurse so it’s okay!! J

Next is our nursing lab which Woosong University has invested much money to!!

Above the first picture, the applicants for our department are entering the nursing lab that is called sol-hospital and located in 5-story in W5.

(But be warned, all nursing lab should be clean so if you come in the nursing lab, you should put on the special shoes.)

And the next, the pictures are operating rooms.

There are various surgical instruments which we are used during practicing the nursing procedures, and Sim-Man which react to our procedures like a human.

These are very helpful for us to do practice actually and repeatedly.

(Our department has total 3 of nursing lab in 2, 4, and 5-stories.)



Nursing department of Woosong University has the best nursing labs in Korea.
As we learned nursing exertises in here, we can experience various situations which are similar with realities :-)

Night Self Studying!!

Compared with other university nursing departments, there is a distinctive and special feature in Woosong university nursing department. Do you know what it is?
It is a night self studying!

On weekdays (Monday to Friday), after finishing the classes, our nursing students go to library to do the night self studying. Freshman, sophomore and junior are required and the seniors are free to do what they want. It usually starts 7 pm and finishes 10 pm on the 4^th floor of the library. When students sit in their seats, there is a card that the student’s name on and students put the card on the desk. Then, the leaders of night self studying check the card that all nursing students come to study. However, there is no night self studying on a week before and during the midterm and final.

In the night self studying, our nursing students study the major subjects and English. There are lots of quizzes, assignments, and studies to do in nursing department. The students need the time to concentrate on studying to deal with the stuff and the night self studying at that time. Therefore, the students can do all the stuffs and accumulate the knowledge. In night self studying time, they are not only studying hard but also some club activities to join. There are James’ writing club, Carl’s guitar and yoga clubs and SSAT. In James’writing club, the students can improve their writing skill and get interested in writing. In Carl’s guitar and yoga club, the students can release their stress and enjoy their hobbies. SSAT is the studying group for the students who want to apply to Samsong hospital. The club activities make the students to improve their learning interest and skills.

Night self studying makes the students to get the regular studying behavior and studying atmosphere. The students not just study hard alone but also cheer and help each others to win-win. Therefore, the students can improve and accumulate their knowledge and personality to become nurses. Night self studying is one of the factors why Woosong university nursing students can be the professional nurses.

EXTRACURRICULAR  ACTIVITIES

Hi~~ Everyone~ I am Gloria.

I think you are very interested in nursing students’ life in the Woosong university .

Let me introduce about extracurricular activities. There are various and enjoyable extracurricular activities  for nursing students even though students might be run off their feet with tough schedule. For example, MUN Conference, English Speech Contest, Toastmaster, etc. I want to say all of them to you but now, I am going to talk about MUN Conference (Model United Nations Conference).

The Woosong University held 18 th Model United Nations Conference-Korea 2012 . It is a huge conference because it is for all universities' students in Korea. The conference was divided into 4 parts and each has a different topic. ; 1^st committee(Global efforts to counter nuclear terrorism and strength nuclear security), 2^nd committee(Global efforts to protect the basic human rights of migrant workers), 3^rd committee(Global efforts to address the challenges and threats in cyberspace), 4^th committee(New international development Goals and Framework beyond MDGs and post -2015).

  In the conference, participants were all students and they played roles of delegators of nations.

I engaged in the conference as a member of the secretariat. Only Woosong students could be the secretariat of MUN because Woosong University is one of the hosts. So, the Secretary-General was Yoon, Danbi who was a nursing student of Woosong. The secretariat was also diveded into 3 departments ; the Conference Service, the Information Service, and the Administration Service. We had prepared for the conference for 5months from march to july.

We were so tired out because we should stay all night and we did our best to help the conference to go well. So, we finished the conference successfully.

Through this, I was so glad to know many people who were students of not only our university but also other universities such as Seoul National University, Chung-Ang University, and Yeonse University etc. It was a good opportunity for me to get out of a small pond and see the whole world. It means I could broaden my view. Also, It was great time to find my potential like leadership and ability to fix some problems. Sometimes the meeting didn’t finsh on time. It was delayed again and again because students' opinions should be combined to the one. It was not easy. Then that time, secretaries should show their flexibility to smooth the conference. It was what we should do. I got a lot of important things during MUN.

Sometimes we were sad...

Sometimes we were angry...

Sometimes we were regretful...

But, we were happy because we were together...

I will remember MUN forever...

Woosong nursing's dormitory life!!

Hello everyone!
This is Amy ! Let me introduce our dormitory. :D
I'm so glad to see our living space!

All my group members are nursing student and we are living in the same dormitory. ^^

Here! This is our dormitory !  It is located in 'Biraedong' in 'Daejeon'.

It is a little away from our school.

Let's go in ! Wow ! It is elevator which transfer  between each floor.

Now as you can see in the picture, they are waiting for elevator because we don't want to climb the stairs even second floors. :)

It is a corridor where we talk with friends and move to another room. 

It is little long. Sometimes I called with my mom in there when the sofa is full of people.^^

We used to watch TV on the weekend, but almost I didn't do it.

That television doesn't follow me well.  :(

 Now I'll introduce my room!

It it absolutely true that I am so clean! :)))

Anyway ! In my room there are 6 people who live together with me.

One freshman, tow sophomores including me, two juniors and one senior.

We are all roommates!! In my room, I spend most of time sleeping. Because our department students have a evening-study everyday(except weekand). Also I did a homework or took a rest in my room. :p

Every day and night our department students are foced by huge assignments. : ((

Now let me introduce our study room! Wow!

Sometimes, I studied in here when I coulnd not concentrate in my room.
There is nothing except chair and desk. ^_^ So we cannot help studying in there!

Altuohg we are so stressful by assignments, we can exercise in fitness room. :)

It has many equipments that we are using. So cool!!

Here is my lovely♥ place! Kitchen!

Also I usually reduce my stress by eating chickens, noodles, cookies etc.

Today I ate noodles with Bonny and Gloria! So delicious!

In our kitchen, we can cook everything that only using microwave and gas.: p

I ate noodles with whole pot!!!^^ I love it !

It is all my dormitory life! Although all my departnent's friends are so tired and streeful today, I can stand because we live all together in this lovely and fantastic dormitory!
So, now I am so happy and glad to introduce my dormitory life !
My posting finished, but our dormitory life will continue forever♥
